Paul Michael German, age 89, of Zanesville, Ohio, formerly of Cambridge, passed away February 25, 2025.
He was born on July 28, 1935, to the Reverend Andrew and Susan (Geçy) German in the parsonage of Holy Trinity Evangelical Church, Pleasant City, Ohio and graduated from Pleasant City High School in 1953. He took many chemistry courses at Ohio University-Zanesville before serving in the United States Army from 1958 to 1959.
He was an analytical chemist by trade and, with the exception of a brief stint at NCR, worked his entire career for the same company, beginning soon after high school as a lab assistant with Vanadium Corporation of America, which became Foote Mineral, and later Shieldalloy Metallurgical Corporation where he retired as Laboratory Manager in 1999.
In midlife, he studied and obtained his auctioneer license and assisted in conducting auctions with Wally Trout in Zanesville for several years until Wally's retirement. He took up oil painting as a hobby and into his reti
